U-value Measurement for the Roof of an Indoor Pool

A great deal of energy is lost through a building’s roof. An energy-efficient renovation reduces CO2 emissions and energy costs. Technical planners, energy experts and consulting firms rely on uvalgt measurement technology for thermal assessments.

The temperature sensors were applied to the north side of the roof windows to minimize the amount of direct sunlight on them.
Thanks to the uvalgt wireless kit data calculator, the values of the individual measuring points could be shown and analyzed in real time.

Background

An indoor swimming pool in Oberwil, Switzerland, was due for renovation. The roof, in particular, had seen better days. Before the renovations began, the energy consulting firm Berplan was commissioned to determine the thermal performance of the building shell. Using the uvalgt Building wireless kit, they were able to assess the quantitative situation at the time and use this as the basis for the best possible renovation of the roof.

Solution

uvalgt Building sensor technology allows for straightforward and precise measurement of the U-value of building envelopes, structural elements, and materials.

The uvalgt wireless kit data measuring device is used to conduct simultaneous measurements of the U-value and the ambient and surface temperatures (indoors and outdoors) at five sensor points, with the option of cloud-based data transmission, analysis and monitoring in real time.
